I work with these groups, because I am strongly connected to their mission. I am an actor, performer, singer and musician. I direct youth theatre. I volunteer – I currently on the boards of 2 non-profits, both serving the arts. In addition to being involved personally in the arts, I am the parent of kids involved in the arts.
All of this to say – I get it. As a techie, I tend to geek out when I can make something faster, add functionality, or just make a website easier to use. As a parent, I know the kind of information that you need to publish for your enrollment season! Most importantly, as a volunteer and director/performer – I understand the unique challenges that come in your business.
Fun Fact: In high school, I took a class where we learned business skills in the classroom (typing, word processing, business writing, computer basics), and then had the opportunity to work in a small business in our local community. During the computer programming unit, I figured out how to program DOS to play music. So my workstation was playing Beethoven’s Ode To Joy while everyone else was trying to get to WordPerfect.
