Hello, World!
This is the customary “Hello World” post… so… Hello!
Welcome to my little corner of the interwebs.
I’m Michelle. I wear many hats. Some may know me as a professional nerd…. IT project manager, business analyst, website developer, tech consultant.
Those most important to me know me as wife, mom, daughter, sister, friend.
I am also an actor, singer, youth theatre director. I dabble in computer games from time to time.
I have been interested in computers and computer games long before most of my peers. When other kids my age were playing with dolls or roaming town until the streetlights came on, I could be found at the local library using their Apple IIe. I spent many a summer day playing “Oregon Trail” and “Swashbuckler”. In High school, I took a business class on a computer that still ran on DOS and used BASIC to program my computer to play Beethoven while everyone else was trying get through the first lesson.
In college, I found Sid Meier’s Civilization series, and spent many hours fighting the Greeks instead of joining the Greek System (though I eventually joined a sorority and partied with them, too).
After college, I ended up getting a job in IT support, which opened doors to spreadsheets, building databases and eventually programming and configuring business applications. I was able to take my business degree and ability to talk to people, and turn it into software that worked in a way that made sense to the people who used it every day. Now that I am running my own tech business, I use those skills to help my clients get their sites or the applications to work in the way that their businesses needs.
You can expect blogs here about mostly website/tech stuff and a maybe dash of resources for other community theatre volunteers!
